Administrative Server of the Domino Name and Adressbook

Moin,

I would like to know the technical details - why the administrative server of the domino directory has to be running Domino 8.5.
I noticed that the installation wizard is checking for this but I would like to know whether that is really a technical necessity or what requests will fail when the administrative server of the domino directory is downgraded to 7. What are the administrative operations that the Domino 7 server will not be able to execute?
